Any Advice?

The store where I teach is closing in January. The owner, Jenay, is liquidating and moving to Northern California so there's no option for me to move with it.

I've been checking community centers and all but the furthest from me already have teachers. I have a steady base of about 6 students with lots of walk-ins, etc.

What are my other options? I'm not sure I can afford a studio yet though I will probably need one for practices until I have a class facility.

I'd love a suggestion or 2.

Thanks,
Red

how about health clubs? some of them are hosting classes. katie quinn teaches at the Premier club. Or Yoga studies, she also had classes there for a while.

Most dance studios rent space. Yoga space is a good idea too. You live in an apt. complex right? How 'bout their community room or workout room, can it be rented?

      Good luck with the search!

    Move Studio is kinda inexpensive...

Unfortunately the workout room at my apartments is tiny and crammed with equipment so that's not an option or I'd be all over that one.

Candace already teaches at Move Studio and I'm trying to stay out of anyone else's space if at all possible. I love that place though.

Do you think a healthclub would let me teach there? I'm a large size woman and probably not the image they want to project. Still if I start teaching bellyrobics that will work there. It's only a tiny step until I get there with my class anyway. I could probably do that for a while.

Thanks! These are all fabulous suggestions.

I wish I could think of more ideas...but yeah, talk to a health club, the YMCA, local studios...you are a fab dancer, i know you have lots to offer all these places!

Thank you, what a nice thing to say!

I really want to avoid leaving my students hanging. I probably teach different than a lot because I have a fusion style and I'm all about feeling great about yourself and girl power.

I'm also scouting out teachers close to Richardson who I feel have some similar views and have a lot of fun in class.
